We have all been there, walking home from the shop with our precious cargo of a new iPhone 4S, still wrapped in its stylish box, being ever so careful as to not leave it on the counter at Starbucks, on top of the car roof as we drive off or on the seat as we get off the bus. And, we finally get it home without losing it, or getting it snatched out of our hand by a passing mugger! Then, we open the box to reveal the perfectly designed device inside – all glass and technology – the perfect accompaniment to our modern lives.
For a few days, we look at it, we cherish it, we put it carefully down on soft surfaces, we never put it into a pocket with coins or keys – we even use a special cloth to wipe the smudges off the screen – god help us if it gets a scratch in the first week!
And then, we start to get used to having it around and suddenly forget how fragile and susceptible to injury it actually is. In a rush out of the door, it gets put in our pocket, and as we fumble around at the car-park for some change, the moment of horror engulfs us – sell my iphone xs has just spent some time, naked, with loose change, and they have been rubbing along together nicely! Rushing to inspect the inevitable destruction of the glossy glass finish with our clammy hands, an even more horrific event occurs – the phone slips out of our grasp- and in slow motion – slams to the concrete. Dam you Apple Designers!
Luckily, the phone has survived this time with just a few minor battle scars but we now realise why the iPhone Case industry is booming. It’s not a case of wanting a case so to speak, but it’s a case of needing a case. Unfortunately, unless you never leave your house, and your house has the thickest floor covering you can buy, we all get to the stage pretty quickly where case shopping becomes our priority.
Nobody really wants to ruin the intended look of the Apple Designers, and let’s face it, if we could enhance the design of the iPhone 4 more, we would be working for Apple. So, although there are many stylish and funky cases to choose from, the original design of the iPhone is still the best case in the world (in my opinion anyway). But, as we know, not everyone agrees and if many of the public were in charge of design at Apple Inc. we would all be walking around with Diamond encrusted iPhones, or snake-skin ones! For some people, they are actually adding to, and personalizing the device and at the same time protecting it.
So, what are the best-selling iPhone Cases? What do most people really end up buying? We have seen that there are many thousands of cases available from Monkeys to Diamonds to 24Ct Gold Plated Cases right through to Wool Socks! There are stylish cases for business, and functional cases for sport, but do they all sell? Is there a person for every case? Or are there factories churning out novelty cases that end up in the recycle bin?
Well, the answer to that is no – evidently, there is someone for every case, people tastes are so varied, and most of us want to look individual and one way of doing this is by choosing a case to show our individuality and style. Sales figures from our online store over the last few months show a good spread across the whole range of available cases but there are definitely cases that sell vast amounts more than the others, and you might be surprised with the results.
At the risk of giving away too much to our competitors, I can tell you that the best-selling cases over the last few months for the iPhone 4S have been – wait for it – 3D Animal Cases. Yes, that’s right, if you were thinking that most people wanted the least intrusive and stylish case they could find, you would be wrong. Seemingly, people are not too concerned about covering the Apple Logo, or even disguising their phone to such an extent that it looks like a pet! And the sales figures are not showing a slight trend towards these cases, it’s a huge one.
